Events Manager

About the Role

This is an incredible opportunity for a talented, well-rounded and results-driven event specialist who is looking to build a stellar portfolio while working with a fun, international team and the global startups who we support. You’ll get the opportunity to learn more about the consumer IoT (Internet of Things) market with a rapidly growing global accelerator and platform based in Hong Kong with offices in Shenzhen and Guangzhou.

The Events manager will play an integral role in the planning, execution and evaluation of Brinc’s ‘Internet of Life Summit’  and all of Brinc’s other events, in Asia and around the globe the follow-up event to the LAUNCH Consumer IoT Summit.

As the assistant Event Coordinator he/she will work with the teams responsible for putting together detailed plans to execute a full line-up of events. The candidate must be able to work independently. The Event Manager is hands-on and will require working as part of a team. You will need to complete a wide range of activities requiring clear, effective communication, critical thinking, excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. You must be able to work well under pressure, make decisions and ensure the smooth and efficient running of an event. Additional responsibilities will include, but are not limited to fundraising, communication with summit sponsors, vendors, and event staff, and other duties as assigned.

The assistant Event Manager will get an opportunity to work on a wide range of digital projects from website mock-ups to social media posts, ad banners to email campaigns for Brinc and potentially the startups in our portfolio.

 

Qualifications:

Candidates applying for this position must have strong communication skills and should be majoring in Public Relations, Communications, Marketing or Journalism. Applicants should also have strong English writing and speaking skills, as well as a solid understanding of social media. Candidates proficient with Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications should apply.

  • Bachelor’s Degree: Marketing, public relations, communications, journalism or similar field preferred

  • Global exposure of startup ecosystems

  • Fluency in English is essential – written and verbal

  • Proactivity and self-starter, ability to take ownership of projects

Additional skills that would be preferred but not required:

  • Proficiency with Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator

  • Previous experience with event management systems

Marketing internship - Fall/Winter 2017

About the Role

This is an incredible internship opportunity for a talented, ambitious and results-driven marketer to work with a fun, international team. You'll get the opportunity to learn about consumer IoT (Internet of Things) and build your marketing experience with a rapidly growing hardware global accelerator and the various startups in our portfolio (20 and growing!).

The marketing internship is a multi-faceted, hands-on role who will support the marketing team and have access to the broader team and senior management. This role offers a range of responsibilities including the opportunity to work across marketing, events, PR and with our startups

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Work closely with the head of marketing to brainstorm and develop global and local marketing campaigns and local event promotions

  • Support content development and help with optimizing content for social media and search engines

  • Meet and work with community stakeholders to coordinate speaking engagements for the management and leadership team

  • Help with managing and developing creative content across marketing platforms including social media, email marketing, press materials and print collateral

  • Support copywriting for online and offline marketing materials for Brinc and potentially our startups

  • Assisting with the development of marketing assets including research and design

  • Attend stakeholder meetings and ecosystem events (there’s a ton) and network with the best and brightest in the tech and hardware community

  • Participate in brainstorms with the management team

Qualifications:

This internship requires 4-5 days of work per week which is also negotiable. A small transport stipend is potentially available.

Video Editor internship - Fall/Winter 2017

About the Role

This is an incredible internship opportunity for a talented, ambitious and results-driven intern to work with a fun, international team. You’ll get the opportunity to learn about consumer IoT (Internet of Things) and build your marketing experience with a rapidly growing hardware global accelerator and the various startups in our portfolio (20 startups and growing).

Brinc is looking for a highly motivated part time (full time negotiable) video editing/digital media intern in Hong Kong. We’re looking for a young, visionary filmmaker (editing critical with shooting skills a plus) with aspirations to captivate people when they see the content this person creates. Someone with the technical and editing skills to craft together dynamic 5-10 minute interview pieces, day-to-day videos, and other interesting content. A film student or recent graduate would be ideal. Please be aware that we are seeking someone with the experience to truly tell our story in a professional manner. This individual will work with the Brinc’s leadership and sales & marketing team to develop video concepts, film, cut and edit.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Work closely with heads of marketing and events to brainstorm and develop global and local marketing campaigns and local event promotions

  • Managing Brinc’s YouTube and vlog

  • Visualizing Brinc’s culture and translating that into film

  • Create, conduct, and edit startup & partner testimonials

  • Collaborating with sales & marketing team for campaigns

  • All video and audio editing (efficiency required as we capture a lot of content)

  • Proper maintenance of Brinc’s cameras, microphones, and production tools

  • Support content development and help with optimizing content for social media and search engines

 

Qualifications:

This internship requires 4-5 days of work per week which is also negotiable. A small transport stipend is potentially available.

  • At least an intermediate knowledge of video production and editing

  • Strong working knowledge of iMovie or Final Cut Studio

  • Strong personal interest in all things video, social media and multimedia design

  • Super creative with the ability to come up with innovative concepts for videos to spread awareness about our cause

  • Fluency in English is essential – written and verbal

  • Proactivity and self-starter, ability to take ownership of projects
